Are you using the “rich” email client or the “classic” email client? While the basic functions are the same the “rich” client is updated, a little faster, and with fewer ads.
In classic mode you will find a button on the left hand side that looks like below.

Once in the new client you can switch back at anytime by clicking “classic” in the upper right corner.
